Ships and Boats are going " Full Circle" in energy for propulsion.

It is heartening to see the extraordinary progress in the different transport sectors despite the best efforts of self interest fossil fuel groups, individuals and politicians.

The old and impressive looking clipper ships took around an hour of hard work carried out by 20 or more skilled and impressively brave men to extend sails.

This can now be done using high tech ultra efficient sails within a few minutes at the push of a button.

These digitally controlled aerofoils are now being retrofitted to tankers and container ships saving in the region of 15% to 25% on fuel (and pollution) without impeding cargo load or unload.

Solar panels are also being placed on super yachts.

Wind powered yacht are now using water driven turbines for electrical supply for the boat. (A propeller creating energy not burning it).

Magnus effect "Spinning Rotors or Fletner Rotors" (a century old technology) is now implemented on ferries and cargo shipping.

This excellent 45 minute YouTube video gives excellent coverage of all the real world (not prototype) installations and the background into the development programs and technical functioning and challenges behind them. (Where to mount, (fix or move and manoeuvre is a fascinating challenge)
